If you’ve watched the news the past few weeks, chances are the only border you’ve heard about is the Ukrainian/Russian border. While the Biden Administration focuses on Ukraine, our Southern border is being flooded by thousands of illegal migrant crossings each day. U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported a record breaking 1,946,012 encounters in 2021. They estimate another 400,000 have escaped into the country without being caught. Biden has paved the way for drug cartels, human traffickers, terrorists and criminals to enter our country. Fentanyl overdoses are now the leading cause of death in US adults ages 18-45; that is the real pandemic. It will kill more Americans than Covid ever could and unfortunately so much damage has already been done. There have been “secret” overnight flights releasing migrants into our communities. Border agents feel abandoned by the President and morale is at an all-time low. The Biden Administration and his “border czar”, Kamala Harris have done virtually nothing to slow the border crisis, but rather quickly reversed Trump’s immigration policies that gave us the most secure border the country has ever seen. It’s exactly what Trump told us would happen. America is a more dangerous place because of our President.

President Donald Trump fulfilled his promise to protect our southern border. He began wall construction early in his presidency and up until 2018 when Mexico elected a far-left President, our border was very secure. The new Mexican President, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, implemented a policy that guaranteed migrants safe transit through Mexico. He believes that migrating to the US is a “human right”. By February 2019, apprehensions at our southern border began to rise. Trump grew frustrated and threatened to raise tariffs on Mexican imports if Obrador didn’t cooperate in assisting to stop the border surge. The Mexican President swiftly deployed 6,000 National Guard troops to the border and agreed to follow the “Remain in Mexico” policy, which sent asylum seekers apprehended at the border back to Mexico while awaiting their hearing. Border encounters went down almost immediately. And that, ladies and gentleman, is how a REAL, tough leader gets things done!

The media smeared Trump’s immigration policies. They often reported on “kids in cages”, while failing to mention that those cages were built during Obama’s presidency. Whether you like Trump or not, there is no denying he gave us a secure border. Why is building a wall to protect our country viewed negatively? I understand that many people live under terrible circumstances. I have compassion for them and wish things were better, but it’s not our responsibility to take care of other country’s citizens. I would encourage those suffering to go through the legal immigration process. It is NOT legal to cross our border without proper documents. What about the term illegal isn’t being understood? Trump’s policies put America First. Should that not be the job of the leader of our country? Americans elected a lawless President who has put America last. We are paying for it with our wallets and lives.

Throughout his campaign, Biden promised more “humane” border policies and went as far as welcoming migrants to make the trip. A reporter asked why Latinos should trust him. His reply was “if you want to flee and you are fleeing oppression, you should come”. On day one of his presidency, Biden stopped construction on the border wall. It was paid for with federal funds, wasting millions of taxpayer dollars. He instituted a 100-day moratorium on deportations and allowed judges to close cases in order to decrease the excessive backlogs. Biden’s new policies made it more difficult for ICE agents to deport anyone but violent criminals. Deportations last year were at a historic low. He terminated the Remain in Mexico Policy. Biden reopened the “catch and release” program, allowing migrants into the community while they await their hearing. Only 47,705 migrants out of 104,171 who were to report to ICE between March and August last year showed up. Due to the pandemic, Title 42 was enforced by Trump to suspend entry from other countries while “there is serious danger of the introduction of such disease into the United States.” Biden made exceptions for children traveling alone and undocumented immigrants traveling with children by giving them the ability to remain in the US indefinitely. As warned, this opened the gates for child trafficking across the border. In March 2021 alone, Border Control encountered about 19,000 unaccompanied children. Family apprehensions went up 400%. The policy reversals weren’t decided based on their effectiveness, but rather to overturn Donald Trump’s actions with no regard for the consequences.

The crisis at our southern border was nearly instantaneous once Biden was inaugurated. After a few months of ignoring warnings and concerns, the President named Kamala Harris the “border czar”. The VP blew off visiting the border and laughed off questions about when she may visit. She finally made her one and only trip to the border in June while stopping by on her way home to California. She briefly visited a Border Patrol Station, miles from the actual border, and ended her theatrical trip by answering a few questions at the El Paso Airport on her way out. El Paso is about 700 miles from McAllen, Texas’ southern tip where the border crisis is most prominent. No solutions were offered on her quick visit. She has vowed to find the “root cause” of the surge, but we’ve heard nothing and the crisis has only gotten worse. Border apprehensions are typically lower during the hot summer months, but encounters peaked in July at 213,593! In December 2021, CBP apprehended 178,840–the worst December in the Department of Homeland Security history, breaking the previous record by over 100,000. The inaction of the Biden Administration the past year has proven they have no solution or plan to address the border crisis.

Border agents continue to encounter migrants with criminal records at the border. They’ve arrested gang members, sex offenders, murderers, human smugglers, drug traffickers and terrorists, to name a few. We’re a little over a month into the new year and agents have already arrested 244 migrants with criminal records. Agents have found hundreds of migrants being smuggled in large trucks and hotel rooms. The Texas DPS has seized enough fentanyl at the border to kill over 200 million people. You may remember the story last year about two toddlers who were found alone after being thrown over a wall. Agents are saving migrants from drowning and other dangerous circumstances daily. There were 557 migrant crossing deaths reported in 2021. Add the 100,000 overdose deaths, mostly from fentanyl that the DEA believes came across the border. Fifty-nine CBP officers died from Covid–perhaps because Joe Biden has ignored Title 42 and allowed Covid positive migrants into the country. Border agents and first responders are witnessing tragedies every day. The crisis on our southern border is too dangerous and deadly to be ignored. Every state in the country is now a border state.

The White House has been accused of secret flights in the middle of the night. They are dispersing migrants across the country and taxpayers are footing the bill. Just last week, footage showed federally contracted buses full of mostly single adult males being dropped off to fly to their new destination. TSA is now accepting their arrest warrants as a form of ID to get on a plane! Border agents and law enforcement have had enough. A.J. Louderback, a Texas sheriff told reporters last week, “This is beyond serious– been occurring for months– only getting worse. It’s government-sanctioned human trafficking. This is all Biden policy! They have engineered planned, strategized and implemented the largest organized transfer of illegal immigrants into the US at the taxpayer expense. Criminal betrayal!”. The White House has denied any secret flights, even though there is video evidence along with border agent testimony. They seem to think the American people are stupid.

I can’t even tell you how many interviews I have seen of border agents, ICE agents and law enforcement on the border begging for help from the Biden Administration. They feel unsupported, betrayed and abandoned by their government. They are overwhelmed daily and working under very dangerous circumstances. Texas has recently taken it into their own hands and have restarted construction on the border wall. You have to ask yourself why any President would allow this to happen; why would he send troops to protect the Ukrainian border, but not his own? The Administration has done NOTHING to make things better and deny the crisis even exists. Biden’s policies welcomed nearly 2 million illegal immigrants last year and I have a feeling Democrats think they have their votes. There’s a reason Democrats are against Voter ID. The Minnesota DFL announced they are allowing non-citizen immigrants and ex-felons to participate in their caucuses this year. That tells you all you need to know.

In my opinion, the border crisis is intentional. The Administration was warned these things would happen if they changed their policies, but followed through anyways and haven’t changed their course. Our country will suffer the consequences of Biden’s lawlessness for years to come. America is a more dangerous place under Joe Biden’s leadership, but it seems that 2 million+ illegal new voters is worth it to the Democrats. He and Kamala have failed the American people. They have lost the trust of law enforcement and the border agents fighting to keep our country safe every day. Today Biden announced he will be sending 3,000 troops to Europe to help defend the Ukrainian border. Here’s a great idea, how about we send them to defend our border instead? Please vote Republican in 2022. Republicans have vowed to reimplement the policies that gave our country the most secure border we’ve ever had. Biden’s America is not the America we know and love. So much damage has already been done and it needs to stop. We are not a nation without borders.
