Responding to Leftist Attacks

First of all, I want to thank everyone for taking the time to read my first post. I was a bit anxious sharing, but the overwhelming amount of positive feedback I received definitely helped ease that. What motivates me most is hearing “we need more people like you”. As cliché as it may sound, it makes me feel like I am doing some good and making an impact. So thank you, I truly appreciate your time, kind words and support! If you’re interested in following my blog and receiving an email when a new post is published, scroll to the bottom of the page there is a follow button. I also have an Instagram page @rightkindofmamas.

It was difficult deciding what to post about next. I could go on forever on so many different topics. At least I’ll always have something to write about! For this post, I chose to share a very interesting speech I heard from Dennis Prager. America Fest had so many amazing speakers, but for me, he made the biggest impact and stands out most. If you ever get the opportunity to hear him speak, DO IT! His wisdom is incredible. Keep in mind, much of what I am sharing are his words and opinions. I ensured to quote him so you’re able to differentiate his thoughts and mine. He shared with us ten attacks the Left makes and how to respond. Enjoy!

1. America is systemically racist

We definitely hear this one a lot. I am not denying there is racism in this country. There absolutely is, but I don’t believe it’s systemic. The definition of systemic racism is “policies and practices that exist throughout a whole society or organization, and that result in and support a continued unfair advantage to some people and unfair or harmful treatment of others based on race” (dictionary.com). Does that sound like America? A WHOLE society? We are the most multiethnic country in the world! How many of our favorite athletes are black? We had a black president. If we’re truly a systemically racist country, we’re pretty bad at it. Keep in mind the same person pushing this narrative also said to a black man “if you vote for Trump, you ain’t black”, but no, Trump’s the racist. Prager suggests responding by asking “did any Jews move to Germany during the 1930’s? Of course they didn’t. Why? Because Nazi Germany was systemically racist. In the last 50 years we have had 3 million black Africans (legally) immigrate to the USA. Are they stupid, because you’d have to be stupid to move to a racist country”.

2. The Founders owned slaves

Yes, our founders did own slaves. A lot of people owned slaves in that generation. Prager made an excellent point that “we must judge people in their times, not in our time”. To use the argument that the founders owned slaves, which was acceptable in that time, “is like saying the founders were inferior to them”. How many times have you watched an older movie, even five years old and thought to yourself, they’d never get away with that today? In the book of Genesis, God saves Noah and his family from the flood because Noah was a righteous man. In today’s world, Noah would NOT be a righteous man. He was righteous in his generation! Prager said “the only serious moral question is not who had slaves, but who abolished slavery? Slavery was first abolished in England and America by Christian Republicans”.

3. Opposing a male who identifies as a female swimming against biological females is transphobic

For me, this one simply comes down to fairness. If you haven’t heard the story yet, there is a UPenn swimmer that goes by the name of Lia Thomas. Lia swam on the men’s swim team the first three years before transitioning and joining the women’s team this year. In a race that usually comes down to a fraction of a second, maybe 2 or 3 seconds, Lia won by 40 seconds. Cynthia Millen, a 30-year USA Swimming Official, resigned a few weeks ago in protest. “I can’t do this. I can’t support this”, Millen said. In my opinion, there is nothing transphobic about not wanting a biological male to compete against females. They have the advantage, there’s no debating that. Dennis Prager said “defending his victories is supporting cheating and contempt for women”. I have a daughter and I don’t want to watch her work her butt off at a sport and not have a chance because of biological male competitors. If we continue to allow this to happen, it will be the end of women’s sports. Where are the feminists on this issue? Protect women’s sports!

4. America is an imperial nation and all of its’ wars were imperialistic

The definition of imperialism is “the policy of extending the rule or authority of an empire or nation over foreign countries, or of acquiring and holding colonies and dependencies” (dictionary.com). Some on the left claim that Vietnam, Korea and World War I were imperialistic wars. Prager asks, “the Korean War, where 37,000 Americans died, was that imperialism or a just war? Our wars were overwhelmingly to keep our freedom. When other countries would see American troops and our flag, they’d celebrate because they knew they were free”. Following President Trumps signing of the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2019, pro-democracy protesters celebrated by flying the American flag and playing the Star Spangled Banner. Why? Our flag is the representation of FREEDOM around the world!

5. Poverty causes crime

Dennis Prager shared that he knew he was a conservative when he heard this argument. While growing up, his grandparents were very poor. He asked himself “if poverty causes crime, why don’t grandma and grandpa rape, murder or mug? They didn’t commit crimes because they have values and follow The Ten Commandments. A crappy conscience causes crime. Someone raised without a higher code to answer to, and many raised without fathers. If poverty causes crime, how come there are so many rich crooks?” I had never put much thought into this argument, but Prager’s response is a hard one to debate! If you’re raised with good values and observe The Ten Commandments, it doesn’t matter if you only have a dollar to your name, you don’t commit crime. Your moral compass is what guides you.

6. Defund the Police

This Leftist idea is by far the most insane, non-sensible idea I’ve ever heard. I don’t understand how anyone can support defunding the police. Both Democrats and BLM claim defunding the police will lead to less crime. How?! Prager believes there’s one chance in defunding the police and that’s “when everyone follows The Ten Commandments. Thou shall not kill, thou shall not steal…” Support our police! They put their lives on the line for us every single day. There are bad apples in every occupation, group, race. Stereotyping ALL police because of the actions of a few is simply wrong and unfair.

7. Colorblind is Racist

Prager believes that “colorblind should be the human ideal. What does your color tell me about you? Your shoes tell me more about you than the color of your skin. Your color means nothing! Only the Left and the KKK believe color tells anything about you.” I think it’s important to not only be proud of our ethnicity, but to learn and respect others’ as well. Rather than putting ALL focus on our tragic racial past, let’s acknowledge it happened, while also focusing on the strides America had taken to overcome it. We can’t change or erase the past, only learn from it. Diversity is something that makes America very special, yet it doesn’t seem many share that perspective. Again, racism exists, but I believe judging people based on their character versus race will make this world a MUCH better place. “Color blind should be the dream of human beings”, Prager concluded.

8. America’s prosperity is due to slavery. Slaves made America rich

It wasn’t having slaves that made America rich and prosperous, it was the abolishment of slavery. Most slavery took place in the South and at that time, “the south was the poorest part of America. If slaves made a country rich, Brazil should be the richest. They had ten times the number of slaves as the USA” according to Prager.

9. Capitalism is inferior to Socialism

The definition of capitalism is “an economic system in which the means of production and distribution are privately or corporately owned and development occurs through the accumulation and reinvestment of profits gained in a free market” (American Heritage Dictionary). Socialism is “any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy” (American Heritage Dictionary). I have a hard time understanding how some believe government control is superior to a free market. Where do you think socialists get their money from? “Socialism spends the money capitalism creates”, Prager said, “Socialism has never created one dollar or any type of currency. The only thing to ever lift billions of humans from poverty is capitalism”. Communist China used to be the face of poverty, but in the late 1970’s they shifted to capitalism. This created great economic growth and today China trails the United States with the second largest economy in the world. Prager asks, “Why does it matter if there are richer or poorer people? Why is equality the ideal (with socialism)? It’s only ideal for those who envy. How many people are truly bothered that there are richer people in the world? You have enough if you live a good life, have a wife, children, grandchildren…I’m the richest man in the world!”

10. Freedom of speech

According to a Pew and Gallup poll, half of college students claim to believe in free speech, but not hate speech. There is NOTHING okay with hate speech or hate in general. Hateful, unhappy people make this world a worse place. However, the Constitution allows us the Freedom of Speech, which includes ALL speech, even speech we don’t like or agree with. According to Prager, “Liberals think they’re worthy of deciding what free speech is. In the 1970’s, former Nazis had a pro-Nazi demonstration in a Jewish community in Illinois. Every Jewish and Liberal group said this was okay because of free speech. Free speech comes with a price, freedom comes with a price, everything comes with a price. Nothing is free”. If you’re true to the Constitution, whether you like it or not, understand that the price we pay for free speech is dealing with hate speech. I don’t like it, but am willing to deal with hate speech in order to keep free speech alive. Don’t even get me started on censorship. I’ll save that for another post….

Next time someone uses one of these ten attacks against you, I hope you’re encouraged to use one of Dennis Prager’s responses! If you Google him, you’ll likely read he’s a conservative conspiracy theorist, but aren’t we all? Ha. In reality, he’s a radio host, author and co-founder of PragerU. I highly recommend following PragerU on Instagram. They post short videos on a variety of topics (politics, economics, faith) packed with inspirational wisdom!

Again, I greatly appreciate you taking the time to read this. I’ve only made two posts so far, but I’ve really enjoyed researching and sharing my truths. It feels very liberating! I hope you enjoyed the read and are able to take something away from it. If you have a topic you’d be interested in learning more about, feel free to comment below! Talk to you again soon! God Bless America!

One response to “Responding to Leftist Attacks”

  1. You hit on a lot of great topics. The history one really gets me…..that’s why it is called HISTORY! How can we move on as a nation if people still want to fret and be victims of history. We cannot change it no matter how many statues or monuments we tear down. And the police thing….when rioters attack their stores….then what! Ugh. I came from a broken, very poor and harsh home….I did not revert to crime. I abided by my mothers rules which were wholesome. You work hard, you do your best, you provide for yourself, you be respectful and humble. The blame is on every individual.
    Victims are ruining our society.
