I had a difficult time watching Joe Biden’s first State of the Union address this past week. His denial, gaslighting, blaming, lies and lack of solutions were maddening. He did say some good things; Republican talking points actually, but the problem is his policies contradict these ideas. The President failed to take accountability for the numerous crises that his Administration has caused. Biden shared optimism and claimed “we are stronger today than we were a year ago”. Does anyone actually feel like that? Stocks have plummeted four consecutive weeks, gas prices are rising at an unsustainable rate, inflation is at a 40-year high, real wages have been down six straight months, over 2.1 million migrants have illegally crossed our border in just over a year, there’s record breaking crime in our cities and suburbs and we are on the brink of World War III, but hey, Covid-19 is basically non-existent!

To say Joe Biden is out of touch with the American people would be an understatement. Recent polls reveal that only twenty-nine percent of Americans believe the country is heading in the right direction. That is terrible, but who are the twenty-nine percent who are okay with what’s going on? People who need to turn off MSM and do their own research.

There wasn’t a mask to be found in the House chamber. Miraculously, the mask mandate was lifted only days before, all a part of the theatrics to pretend Joe Biden defeated Covid. The science changed just in time! Another thing I noticed was the abundance of Ukrainian flag pins worn by politicians. Don’t take this the wrong way. I completely understand and support Ukraine. It was the absence of American flag support (from many, including Minority Leader McCarthy) that stuck out to me. The State of the Union’s purpose is to primarily discuss our country. While Russia’s invasion on Ukraine is overwhelming the news, our country is crumbling beneath us. If only the Biden Administration focused on our southern border as much as Ukraine’s.

Biden began his address speaking about Russia’s invasion on Ukraine. He has no accomplishments of his own, so speaking of Ukraine in a “we” context was the best he could do. Putin did not dare invade Ukraine when Trump was president. President Trump told him that if he did, he would bomb Moscow. It was Trump who gave Ukraine weapons and put sanctions on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. When Biden shut down the Keystone Pipeline on day one, not only did he erase America’s energy independence, he gave Putin some leverage. He raised Trump’s sanctions on Nord Stream 2, a geopolitical gift to Putin. Biden has since reinstated those sanctions. We are buying about 600,000 barrels of oil a day from Russia. America and Europe are relying on Russia for oil and essentially funding their attack on Ukraine. The Biden Administration refuses to reopen Keystone. Reopening the pipeline and regaining energy independence would cripple Russia’s economy. It would be the single most effective action Biden could take to hurt Putin. It would create millions of jobs for Americans and help lower our gas prices. Remember when gas averaged $2.00/gallon under Trump? As of this morning, the national average is $4.01/gallon and predicted to get much higher. The Administration continues to push the Green New Deal and electric vehicles for what he referred to in his address as “environmental justice”. I didn’t know foreign oil was better for the environment than American oil. Biden’s solution is to take three days worth from global oil reserves. This oil is meant for emergencies, not bad policies. The last time he did this gas went down about five cents for a week or two. Mean tweets don’t sound too bad right about now, do they?

Polling would suggest that inflation is the top concern for most Americans. First it was only temporary and transitory, then it was going to start tapering off and now inflation is apparently Russia’s fault. Both Jen Psaki and Mainstream Media have blamed the Ukraine/Russia conflict for rising prices. It absolutely contributes, but let’s not pretend that rising prices started just a few weeks ago. The supply chain has been disrupted due to Covid, but bad policy is also to blame. Biden hasn’t taken accountability for inflation and has yet to offer a real plan to combat it. His policies do the exact opposite. In his address, he blamed businesses for price gouging rather than his reckless spending. He asked businesses to “lower costs, not wages”. They can’t! If businesses are even lucky enough to find employees, their overall costs are higher. Not once did he refer to “Build Back Better” but instead rebranded to “Building a Better America”. BBB has failed to pass on a bipartisan level because contrary to what he has said, it will NOT cost zero dollars, it will NOT lower the deficit and it will NOT curb inflation. He continues to refer to 17 Nobel economists who back the bill, but the truth is these economists have waffled back and forth on their support. If BBB would truly benefit the country, it would have bipartisan support. Other than more spending, Biden didn’t provide a solution or plan but he did say “we’re going to be okay”. That makes me feel much better. He continues to claim no one making less than $400,000 will pay a penny more in taxes. Inflation is worse than tax at this point. Families are suffering in Joe Biden’s America and it’s affecting the middle class most.

Speaking of taxes, Biden lied when claiming only the wealthy benefitted under Trump’s tax cuts. Every single American benefited. A few months back, it was predicted the average family had $6,000 more a year under President Trump. I can only imagine that number continues to climb with inflation. According to Biden, our economy is booming. He continues to push the narrative that he created a record 6.5 million jobs. When jobs are lost due to a pandemic and slowly come back as the economy opens up, it is NOT job creation. The same goes for the “record breaking” GDP growth. It is important to note that 16 out of 20 states with the highest job recovery are governed by Republicans. Unfortunately, too many people believe him rather than understanding this concept. If he wants a booming economy, he should start by producing more oil domestically.

An idea Biden shared that I agree with is to buy and hire American “from beginning to end”. Wonderful idea! A Republican dominant plan and something Trump actually worked hard on. Products can’t get stuck on a cargo ship when they’re made in America. Biden says that, but does the opposite. What about oil? America is producing about one million less barrels a day than it was in 2019 and dependent on other counties. Do you remember those “free” Covid tests the government sent out? They were bought from China for about $1.3 billion. Not only did the virus come from China, but they also profited greatly from it.

Biden also said he’d like to lower prescription drug costs. Trump cut the costs of insulin and on Biden’s first day, he signed an executive order that brought the price back up. It is comical that as polls tank, the Administration is turning to America First talking points. Are they finally realizing that their radical agenda is NOT what a majority of Americans want?

There were two talking points during his address that infuriated me and I pray the American people saw through the hypocrisy: secure our border and fund the police. You can’t make this stuff up. Joe Biden has no shame. He ended construction on the fully paid for border wall his first day. His policies have welcomed migrants to cross into our country illegally. There have been over 2.1 million illegal migrant encounters since Biden’s inauguration. We’re only a few months into 2022 and crossings are already up 126% since 2021! The border has been ignored by this Administration. Border agents are overwhelmed and feel abandoned by Biden. He says he wants to end to opioid crisis, yet drug trafficking is out of control and cartels are thriving with our open border. Fentanyl that has crossed our border will kill more Americans than Covid ever could. But NOW Biden wants to secure our border? So maddening. On top of securing our border, he also wants amnesty for those who snuck into our country. Under Joe Biden, it will be easier to become a US citizen by crossing illegally than it is to go through the correct, legal process. He claims this is economically smart, contradicting the idea of hiring American. But hey, Democrats just got 2.1 million new voters. They expect the migrants to vote Democrat because they believe they did them a favor. I agree with Joe Biden. SECURE OUR BORDER! It should have never been unsecured in the first place.

Fund the police, don’t defund them. It sounds like common sense, right? The Radical Left has campaigned on the platform of defunding the police the past few years. You may recall “DEFUND THE POLICE” painted largely on a street near the White House. Not only have they defunded the police in some areas, they have villainized them. Police are being murdered and crime is up significantly. Liberal DA’s have been soft on crime and allowing little or no bail for many criminals. Kamala Harris funded bail for rioters in Minneapolis. Joe Biden calling to fund the police is beyond hypocritical. Of course funding the police is a good idea! The Republican party has never wavered on their support for the police and have strongly opposed defunding. Their lack of respect and support for the police cannot be forgotten. Again, the Democrats are realizing their radical agenda is not what the American people want.

Biden failed to speak about Afghanistan and the thirteen lives that were lost in his botched withdrawal. Congresswoman Lauren Boebert has been criticized for shouting “thirteen of them” when he spoke about coffins coming home from war. I think the real criticism should be towards the President for not acknowledging the thirteen heroes who lost their lives because of him. His failure to speak about Afghanistan tells you everything you need to know. If he were proud and felt the withdrawal was an accomplishment, he’d brag about it. Lauren Boebert may have interrupted his teleprompter speech, but I think the thirteen families’ lives have been much more interrupted. The same people criticizing her were applauding Nancy Pelosi when she tore up the President of the United States speech. That is disgraceful.

There were a few other topics from the SOTU address worth mentioning. The President said schools need to be open. Another common sense statement. His Administration has been working with the teacher unions to keep them closed. They’ve known all along that the risk for children is low, but still allowed them to suffer for two years by shutting down classrooms.

He bizarrely said “you can’t build a wall high enough to keep out a vaccine” and falsely claimed it would stop the spread. Biden referred to abortion as health care. He vowed to cut cancer death rates by 50%.

Biden falsely claimed that gun manufacturers were the only industry that can’t be sued. They absolutely can be and are often. An industry that can’t be sued is Big Pharma- the vaccine manufacturers. I have yet to see MSM post a single article fact checking Biden’s SOTU address.

President Trump’s opening statement in his 2020 SOTU address was: “Jobs are booming, incomes are soaring, poverty is plummeting, crime is falling, confidence is surging and our country is thriving. America’s enemies are on the run, America’s fortunes are on the rise”. Oh, how far we have fallen the last two years. The same policies and ideas that were booed when Trump said them, were applauded when Biden did. Watching him lie and talk like a Republican for over an hour was painful. I think the biggest takeaway is that the Left knows that winning statements for the American people are conservative viewpoints and ideas. Their hypocrisy was on full display. Joe Biden is a failure to the American people, but I am confident that enough people are waking up. There is going to be a Red tsunami and we will take back the House and Senate in November.
